Arnold & Porter adds partner in bankruptcy, restructuring practice

Arnold & Porter added Jonathan Levine as a partner in its bankruptcy and restructuring practice. He will be resident in the law firm’s New York office.

An experienced bankruptcy and restructuring attorney, Levine represents asset managers and private funds in their investments in distressed situations. He also represents financial investors, debtors and official and ad hoc creditors and equity committees in complex Chapter 11 reorganizations and out-of-court restructurings. He works with companies across a diverse range of industries, including telecommunications, mining, energy, oil and gas, airline cargo, maritime shipping, trucking, manufacturing and technology.

He joins from Morrison & Foerster, where he was a partner for the past three years. Before that, he was a partner at Andrews Kurth and an attorney at Winston & Strawn.

Levine is recommended by the Legal 500 in the area of corporate restructuring, recognized as a Notable Practitioner for Restructuring and Insolvency in International Financial Law Review and was named a New York Rising Star in Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights by Metro Magazine from 2011-2015.

“Jon is an accomplished lawyer with deep experience in the bankruptcy and restructuring space. His addition will add further dimension to our practice in New York and firm-wide,” said Michael L. Bernstein, chair of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring group, said in a press release.

Levine earned his JD from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his BA from Stanford University.
