Before Jefferies, Heaney was a senior managing director at Bear Stearns,  where he had a career spanning 22 years in the fixed-income department.

O'Neill will serve be a senior vice resident in Amherst's mortgage sales division based in the New York office. O'Neill was formerly from Jefferies where he was a senior vice president in its MBS and structured product sales group. Before his time at Jefferies, he spent eleven years at Bear Stearns in both the firm's fixed-income sales division and fixed-income technology group.

"I am delighted to welcome this group of high-caliber sales leaders to the Amherst team," said Dan Hoffman, head of sales at Amherst. "Their combined industry expertise and valuable client relationships across a wide range of accounts will deepen our MBS presence as we continue to meet the growing needs of our clients."
