Alvarez & Marsal hired Michael Zanolli as a managing director in New York and Philadelphia.
Zanolli has served in a number of advisory and investment management positions in the real estate industry. He focuses on real estate structured finance and investments including commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS), commercial real estate collateralized debt obligations (CRE CDO), proprietary trading and workouts.
Prior to joining A&M, Zanolli was the founder of Wallingford Capital Management, LLC, a private real estate advisory company, where he advised creditors and debtors on complex debt restructurings and workouts of commercial real estate debt. He was also head of real estate investing at an alternative investment manager, where he created and managed a commercial real estate debt portfolio with more than $2.5 billion of gross asset exposure.
Zanoli served as senior vice president at Commerzbank AG’s New York branch, where he was the co-creator of the CMBS large loan group as well as chief strategist and manager of the group's real estate securities portfolio.
