Independent third-party review firm Allonhill has hired David Kaplan as general counsel, the company said in a release today.
As a member of the Allonhill executive team, Kaplan will serve a legal function with duties that include acting as senior attorney of the legal department, providing all legal advice and counsel and overseeing compliance and corporate audits, while interacting with all departments to make sure that the company operates within the law at all times.
Kaplan has an extensive legal background that includes experience in securitization and due diligence. Before Allonhill, Kaplan was general counsel, chief compliance officer and vice president at Braddock Financial Corp., a Denver-based registered investment adviser, hedge fund manager, private equity, and venture capital firm.
He was previously an associate in the New York City offices of two law firms. At Sidley Austin LLP, he was engaged in securitizations and structured finance deals. At Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, he took part in various equity IPOs, bond issuances, restructurings, reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions.
