AIG Names New Director For Real Estate Arm

Robert Gifford has joined American International Group (AIG), where he will be president and CEO of AIG Global Real Estate.

He was most recently a principal at real estate investment management shop AEW Capital Management.

Prior to Gifford’s appointment, Jeffrey Hurd, senior vice president and head of asset management restructuring and chief administrative officer at AIG, filled the role temporarily. He will resume his previous responsibilities, AIG said in a statement.

AIG Global Real Estate manages $24.3 billion of real estate in 50 countries for clients and other AIG companies.
