Mikiyon Alexander

Director, Corporate and Government Finance Ratings

Mikiyon Alexander, director, is the business sector leader for the U.S. Public Finance Ratings group, focusing on multifamily housing including privatized real estate, tax-exempt housing, and government-sponsored-entity programs. Mikiyon is responsible for criteria development, providing credit analysis for new municipal tax-exempt state and local government transactions and federal lease issues, and chairing credit committees. Mikiyon manages a team of credit professionals who provide ratings and credit analysis on letters of credit and tax-exempt housing. He also has experience with international military housing deals. Prior to joining the credit rating industry, Mikiyon was experienced and proficient in developing financial models for non-profit organizations. He has provided financial viability analysis to non-profit organizations in New York City who were interested in developing affordable housing as well as for organizations interested in embarking in public/private ventures. Mikiyon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Kentucky State University and a Masters of Urban Policy Analysis from The New School University. He holds a Certificate in Finance from The New School University’s Robert J. Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy. Mikiyon is a member of the Municipal Analyst Group of New York, the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, and the National Council of State Housing Agencies. In 2011 Mikiyon was featured in The Network Journal as one of the “40 Under-Forty Black Achievers.”
