Melton Knight brings 20 years of Credit Risk experience to MasterCard Advisors. Melton has held key positions with several firms within the Financial Services industry. Prior to joining MasterCard Advisors, Melton spent 5 years heading the Risk Management department at a Private Label credit card bank, First North American National Bank (FNANB). Melton was responsible for the full credit life cycle: the development of acquisition criteria to support all channels, the creation of risk-based account management strategies, the development of MIS, short and long-term delinquency and loss forecasting, and all modeling and scorecard development efforts. Melton’s risk team was structured based on FNANB’s three (3) products: a private label credit card, a bankcard, and a co-branded bankcard. Before joining FNANB, Melton was a Consultant with CRMA, a subsidiary of Fair Isaac Corporation. Because of his diverse product and strategic systems background, Melton worked with clients that covered a broad range of product offerings and business needs. A partial list of clients include: National City Corp, Banamex, Auto Nation, and Centex Mortgage. Melton provided clients with strategic implementation plans for product offerings, codification of credit policy, and strategy development for new and existing account decision tree tools (Strategyware, FDR ACS, and TRIAD). Prior to CRMA, Melton worked for FirstPlus Financial, a Mortgage lender specializing in high risk, high yield mortgage and home equity loans. Melton led a team that consisted of Model Development, Database Management, and Strategic Risk Analysis. Melton’s risk group created long-term loss projections for potential investors and bond rating agencies in support of financing efforts on the secondary bond market.Prior to FirstPlus, Melton worked for The Associates (now Citigroup/Citifinancial). Melton’s responsibility was all risk analysis indirect sales finance, consumer installment loans, revolving line of credit, and real estate loans. Melton began his career in Credit Operations with Sears Credit – holding various positions in Collections, Customer Service, and Fraud. Melton then transitioned to a new role within Sears Credit as a TRIAD analyst developing line management and authorization strategies for the Sears Credit Card portfolio.
