Leland R. (Lee) Merrill, Jr.

Leland R. Merrill, Jr. is Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer and Director of Commercial Relationships of BankNewport. �He oversees all aspects of Residential Lending, Commercial Lending, Business Banking and Consumer Lending Operations for the Bank.� Lee also oversees third party loan originations and relationships, including BancAlliance and Lending Club.He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Vermont and a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.Lee is a member of the board of BancAlliance, a board member of the Business Development Company of Rhode Island, a board member of the Newport County YMCA, and serves as Treasurer of the Portsmouth Youth Soccer Association. He is past Chair of the Advisory Committee of the Newport County Fund of the Rhode Island Foundation.
