A transformational executive with foresight and imagination, Dr. Henna A. Karna has an impressive history of delivering revolutionary digital innovations, ensuring memorable customer experiences, and developing ground-breaking solutions that have high-impact digital, big data, customer engagement, and product innovation strategies. Henna joined Xceedance as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer in 2016. She is responsible for long-range planning and corporate direction based on a refined value proposition for the company within the insurance sector, with joint P&L responsibility for the organization. Driving a pivot of the business model based on new growth opportunities, data strategy and innovation in digital combined with analytics and cognitive intelligence.Prior to joining Xceedance, Henna was a Managing Director, Global Head of Actuarial Operations and led the effort of transforming the actuarial organization into a digital-centric, data and insight-driven business. Henna led design/development of AIG’s first actuarial digital portal: Conducted workshops/interviews with 150+ actuaries in 12 countries. Evaluated consumer/commercial data, complex issues, and interconnected systems. Identified and prioritized 4 emerging archetypes within ecosystem that needed service. Optimized actuarial workflow and formulated digital roadmap.Previously, Henna was President of Verisk Digital Services (business unit within Verisk Analytics) and had spearheaded a $20 million multi-year, multi-phase�initiative to build the very first digital ecosystem within the insurance space. Discovered major problems with existing customer strategy by conducting in-depth market research. Obtained funding from CEO for discovery phase of new solution, and completed extremely successful proof-of-concept. Karna designed a patent-pending Digital Engagement Platform with big data and analytics solution in just 9 months. Henna has spent over 20 years in industry, has a Doctorate and Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She’s been a member of Mensa and Pi Mu Epsilon, and has worked as an adjunct professor at Babson College.
