Dan Wilson

Dan Wilson, a Director at National Public Finance Guarantee, is responsible for business origination as part of the New Business team.� A seasoned professional with nearly 20 years of finance experience, Mr. Wilson is involved in analyzing and underwriting transactions across a wide range of municipal sectors including GO, tax backed, higher education and healthcare.� Prior to joining the New Business team in early 2014, Mr. Wilson was previously a Director in the Insured Portfolio Management Group within National and was the manager of the Healthcare portfolio.� In this position, Mr. Wilson was in charge of the monitoring and surveillance of National’s insured not-for-profit hospitals and led the amendment/waiver process for these hospitals. �Mr. Wilson also played an active role in the remediation of troubled hospitals in the portfolio.Prior to joining MBIA in 2005, Mr. Wilson worked for nearly a decade at several investment banks.� Directly prior to MBIA, Mr. Wilson was a member of the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at JP Morgan, specializing in financing not-for-profit hospital systems throughout the United States.� At JP Morgan, Mr. Wilson helped finance some of the largest not-for-profit systems in the U.S. as well as worked on merger and acquisition advisory projects.� Mr. Wilson also had extensive experience on the corporate finance side of investment banking covering a variety of industries including healthcare while working at Bankers Trust and later Deutsche Bank.� Specializing in leverage finance, Mr. Wilson helped finance a number of leverage buyout transaction for numerous financial sponsor groups.Mr. Wilson is active in various municipal industry organizations such as with the Municipal Analyst Group of New York, where he currently serves as a Board member, and also with the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. Mr. Wilson obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from ColumbiaUniversity and Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
