Chris Roberts

Executive Director

Chris Roberts is an Executive Director and heads the Los Angeles office of J.P. Morgan’s Public Finance department. Chris joined J.P. Morgan in June 2008 after a ten-year career at Bear Stearns. Prior to Bear Stearns, Chris worked for six years in the public finance group at Ernst & Young LLP. Chris has extensive experience in structuring and executing financing and credit plans for a diverse collection of municipal security structures, including: water, wastewater, power, transportation, pension obligation, general fund, lease revenue, certificates of participation and tobacco securitizations.Specific to utilities, Chris’ current efforts focus on assisting his clients in the structuring and marketing of their credit in the most effective way as they look to provide their customers a low-cost, sustainable water and power supply that meets California’s regulatory and economic demands. Chris’ utility experience includes leading the financing plans for some of the largest and most complex capital plans on the west coast. His clients include The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, San Diego County Water Authority, Irvine Ranch Water District, Santa Clara Valley Water District, Sacramento County Water Agency, Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Transmission Agency of Northern California, Modesto Irrigation District, M-S-R Public Power Agency, the Cities of Santa Clara and Riverside and Municipality of Anchorage. Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Arizona and holds FINRA Series 7, 53 and 63 licenses.
