Odeon Capital Group Opens Chicago Office

Odeon Capital Group expanded into the Midwest market by opening an office in Chicago and hiring a securitization expert to lead the new location's trading desk.

Derek Rose, a 23-year veteran of the securitization industry, has been hired by Odeon as a senior vice president. Rose will lead the Chicago based trading desk, which works with the firm’s independent research team to provide clients a full service offering for high yield and distressed debt trading.

Rose joins Odeon from Southwest Securities, where he was an senior vice president in charge of ABS/CMBS trading. In this position, he developed Southwest’s sales platform across all securitized products and built the firm’s trading franchise for auction rate securities and other student loan-related products.

Before Southwest, Rose was a senior ABS trader and the director of the securitization syndicate of the New York trading desk at RBS Capital Markets Corp.

The Chicago office marks the fourth domestic location for the Odeon Capital. In addition to recently bolstering its U.S.-based sales, trading and research teams with offices in New York, Texas, Florida and Connecticut, the firm formed Odeon Hobart Partners, a London-based joint venture division with Hobart Capital Markets, in August.
