Ex-Chase Chief to Head Kislak Mortgage

Industry veteran Tom Wind, who has headed such mortgage powerhouses as Chase Home Finance and Aurora Loan Services (ALS), has been named managing director of J.I. Kislak Mortgage, Miami Lakes, Fla.

Wind, who left ALS this summer, will be based in Denver, Colo. Kislak Mortgage is an affiliate of the privately held Kislak Organization, which had left the residential business two decades ago, but recently reentered the space.

He resigned from Chase in mid-2008 to join ALS, which was then owned by Lehman Brothers. While at Chase, he publicly criticized the payment option ARM product, citing its riskiness to home owners and lenders.

At Kislak, Wind will help shape the nonbank lender's growth strategy and its product menu.

Kislak Mortgage CEO Thomas Meyer said in a statement, "No individual has more relevant, important or impactful credentials in the residential mortgage industry than Tom Wind."
