Deustche Bank adds to mtg research

Deutsche Bank has added Gregg Patruno in its mortgage research team, as director responsible for U.S. MBS modeling. He reports to Alec Crawford, head of mortgage and cross-rates research at DBSI.

Patruno -- who prior to his appointment at DBSI spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs -- has over 15 years of experience as a fixed-income modeler and quantitative analyst. Before his stint at Goldman, he spent five years at First Boston. From 1994 to 2000, Patruno specialized in mortgage prepayment analysis.

In a release from Deutsche Bank, Chief U.S. Fixed Income Strategist Ifty Islam said "MBS are a critical part of the U.S. and global bond markets." He added that Patruno is “world class in terms of understanding the nuances of MBS as well as the big picture.”

Global Head of Securitization Research Karen Weaver was also quoted as saying, "Deutsche Bank has made a big commitment to grow its presence in the U.S. mortgage market.” She added, “The addition of Gregg, who brings tremendous experience and stature to our mortgage research team, is reflective of that commitment."
