Christian Aufsatz, Barclays' former head of European CMBS research, has joined the DBRS London office.
With Aufsatz hire, DBRS is looking to provide European CMBS investors with a more interactive rating and surveillance platform to offer timely insights at issuance and throughout the life of the securities.
At Barclays Aufsatz led the analysis and research for European securitized products with a focus on European commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), leverage loan collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), small and medium-sized enterprise CLOs and securitization regulation. He was let go at the end of July as part of the bank's larger round of lay off's of heads of its European asset-backed securities sales (ABS), trading, and research units.
Prior to Barclays, he worked for Moody’s Investors Service in London as the team leader of Europe, the Middle East and Africa CMBS, responsible for the analytical approach to rating CMBS, non-performing loans and commercial real estate collateralized debt obligations.
Ausfatz follows in the footsteps of Detlef Scholz, who left Moody's to join DBRS as head of European operations in June.
