Clayton Hires Harris as General Counsel

Robert A. Harris has joined due diligence provider Clayton Holdings as general counsel, according to a release from the firm.

As general counsel, Harris will oversee all legal and regulatory issues of Clayton’s businesses. He will report to Paul Bossidy, the company’s chief executive officer.

Harris has more than 25 years of legal experience as corporate counsel and in private practice positions. Before Clayton, he was chief legal officer of OpHedge Investment Services, a provider of comprehensive middle and back office services to alternative investment managers and funds.

During his time at OpHedge, he held different positions, including compliance officer, corporate secretary and chief administrative officer.

His private firm experience includes working at Zeldes, Needle & Cooper and Levett Rockwood, which are both based in Connecticut.

“In today’s heavily regulated, zero-tolerance environment, clients expect their advisors and providers to scrupulously comply with the letter and spirit of laws and of all applicable regulations,” said Bossidy. “Rob’s legal background combined with his hands-on business experience will help Clayton stay ahead of the new rules that are transforming our industry.”
