BTIG Boosts Fixed-Income Biz

BTIG has further expanded its fixed-income group by adding Michael Noonan and Drew Rymer.

Both additions continue BTIG's strategy to expand its fixed-income sales and trading platform.  They join BTIG's high yield and distressed fixed-income sales group that is based in New York.

Noonan joins BTIG as a managing director. He has over 11 years of fixed-income sales and trading experience in London and New York. He joins BTIG in New York from CF Global in London, where he was a senior sales trader in the fixed-income unit.

He started his career at Citibank's private wealth management division in New York, prior to moving to London to join the European high yield trading desk at CIBC World Markets. Before that, he ran the high yield trading desks at interdealer brokerages Seidel & Shaw and Tullett Prebon, and headed up the sales and trading effort at UBA Capital (Europe).

Rymer joins BTIG as a vice president from Hamlin Capital Management, a New York based investment fund, where he did both credit and equity analysis for prospective fixed-income investments as well as its income-oriented equity investment strategy. He began his career at Imperial Capital, a Los Angeles based investment bank, where he focused on fixed-income research on high yield and distressed securities.

"Michael and Drew bring a distinct level of experience and expertise that will enhance the level of service BTIG provides," Robert Langer, head of high yield and distressed desk said. "We are seeing an increase in activity across the high yield and international fixed incomebusinesses, and these two additions will help BTIG capture those opportunities and broaden our distribution."

"Michael and Drew complement our fixed-income team, and bring skills that will broaden our offering to clients," said Steven Starker, co-founder of BTIG. "We are looking forward to their contributions and leveraging the experience they bring to the group."

BTIG's fixed-income group offers clients access to an array of credit securities, from investment grade to distressed credit. It is a global financial services firm specializing in institutional trading and related brokerage services.
