David Galvan

David Galvan is a technology and internet veteran, with over 25 years of business and operating experience in Silicon Valley.� He is currently VP of Business Development and Strategic Alliances for MasterCard International, where he focuses on relationships and investments with emerging companies in the digital space.� Prior to that, Galvan was Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for 24 Hour Fitness, the�largest privately owned U.S. fitness club chain in the United States, serving nearly four million members in more than 425 clubs.� Hired by PE firm Forstmann Little to prep the Company for sale after a failed attempt in 2012, Galvan oversaw business and operational management of the 24HF Personal Fitness Business ($200M rev), Retail Business ($65M rev), Corp/Healthcare Sales ($20M rev), Sponsorship Sales ($5M rev) and Real Estate Sales Team ($100M budget). �He was also responsible for all new and legacy deals and strategic partnerships for entire Company. �24 Hour Fitness was successfully�sold to an investor group led by AEA Investors for $1.85B in June 2014.Before 24HF,�Galvan was Chief Executive Officer at The Learning Annex, where he was recruited by the founder, Bill Zanker, to bring the successful offline educational business to the web via an online marketplace. �Galvan was also�President/Head of BD at Schedulicity, a leading online scheduling service for appointment-based businesses. Prior to Schedulicity, he was Vice-President of Sales and Business Development at Topix LLC, an online news and community site, where he was responsible for managing all revenue programs for the company and advertising development of new revenue products and local strategy.�Prior to joining Topix, Galvan was the Senior Vice President of Business Development and New Media for business and consumer database provider Infogroup Inc., previously InfoUSA.� From 2001 to 2005, he served as the Senior Director of Business Development for the Search and Marketplace Group at Yahoo!, working across the Yellow Pages, Local, Search, Real Estate, Classifieds, Pets, Maps, City Guides, Autos, Tickets and Employment verticals. While there, he negotiated and closed complex revenue deals and strategic partnerships, resulting in 20 to 40 percent revenue growth each year.�In addition, Galvan has held senior roles at leading technology organizations throughout his career at: AOL/Netscape, Motorola and Unisys.He is a frequent speaker on the Payments, Search and Local marketplace scene.
