CIFC Asset Management has named veteran debt and equity analyst and portfolio manager David Walker as the firm’s new head of global investment research.
Walker will be based in New York, overseeing a team of 20 research analysts in Europe and the United States, reporting to CIFC chief executive and chief investment officer Steve Vaccaro.
Walker’s role will be to steer research for $26 billion of assets under management, most of which are tied to long-term vehicles, according to the company.
Walker’s hiring follows the recent hiring of a U.S. high-yield bond team for CIFC in January.
Walker has over 30 years of experience in debt and equity research, most recently as director of corporate credit of Genworth Financial. He has also been portfolio manager and senior analyst for Tricadia Capital Management, a senior analyst at UBS Global Credit Strategies and co-head of high yield research at JPMorgan Securities.
