Whispers

Steve Skerrett has taken over from Andy Clapham as head of Greenwich NatWest's U.K. and European securitization team. He will report to Bruce Snider, head of ABS outside of the U.S. Clapham resigned at the end of June and will spend some months travelling before a possible return to the City. He leaves GNW in good shape with a staff of 60 in London.

Skerrett, who has been at NatWest since 1988, has been asked to increase the interaction and synergies between GNW's European and U.S. staff. There are no plans to fill Skerrett's previous post as head of principal finance, where he was responsible for the landmark GBP1 billion student loan-backed deal, THESIS.

Fitch IBCA has made two additions to its International Structured Finance Group in New York: Masako (Mary) Osako and Patrick Kearns.

Osako joins from Industrial Bank of Japan, where she worked in the structured finance department. She will concentrate on Japanese ratings. Kearns' appointment, meanwhile, is an internal move. He transfers to the International Structured Finance Group from Fitch's Residential Mortgage Group.

Both analysts will report to managing directors Jill Zelter and Teresa Esquivel.
