S&P beefs up CDO group

Standard & Poor's Corp. is currently in the process of beefing up its CDO group, with up to seven new hires being placed and more on the way. Starting this Monday at the rating agency as associate directors in the CBO group are Belinda Getty, Vandana Sharma, and Darren Esser. They join associate Yuri Chumak and research assistants Andrew Smith and Andrew Leleck. All will ultimately report to the head of the CBO group David Tesher.

Getty returns to S&P from CIBC, where she had worked for the past year and Sharma comes from the strategic planning group within S&P. Esser, a former real estate attorney at Jones, Day, Reazis & Togue, also formerly worked at G.E. Capital. Smith and Leleck both recently graduated from the James Madison University school of quantitative finance.

Additionally, S&P has hired Bujiang Hu, an associate in the derivatives group and Sharon Hall, an associate in the market value products group.

Sources say S&P is not done hiring as the company is waiting on the acceptance of at least one more prospective hire, although a name was not disclosed.
