RBC Capital Markets Hires Salesman for Financial Products Group

RBC Capital Markets hired David Odenath as a salesperson in the firm’s U.S. financial products group. 

Based in New York, Odenath is responsible for sales of equity and rate linked structured products to U.S. private and trust banking networks. 

Odenath joins RBC from Deutsche Asset Management, where he was a senior institutional account manager responsible for coverage of some of the largest U.S. based trust and private banks.

He reports to Donald Dye, who joined RBC Capital  in May of as head of U.S. retail and high networth sales, financial products.

“David is a terrific addition to the financial products team,” Dye said in a press release.  “David’s deep client relationships will further strengthen the build-out of our retail and high net worth financial products business in the U.S.”

Dye’s appointment follows several hires RBC Capital made earlier this year to expand its global equity-linked products and structured rates businesses. Shailesh Bhatt, Antti Pihlaja and Scott McBurney joined the firm as managing directors, and Simon Boutros as a vice president.

Anik Khambhla joined as head of U.S. structured rates trading and Manav Sharma joined as a director.

RBC also expanded its global equity-linked products trading desk in the spring by hiring Brian Ward as head of flow trading in the Americas and Arturo Bignardi as head of index trading in the Americas.
