GSC Partners recently announced the creation of a new REIT, named GSC Capital Corp. GSC Capital will invest in real estate-related securities, whole-loan mortgages, bank loans, corporate loans and other asset-backed securities. The new trust will also use structured financing to mitigate interest rate risks and to establish attractive term financing. The initial 144A offering was underwritten by Deutsche Bank Securities, and was comprised of approximately $100 million of equity and $100 million of convertible debt.
