Greenwich Capital Markets recently culminated its new collateralized debt obligation effort, announcing it hired Fred Matera, most recently of Credit Suisse First Boston/Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Matera, whose expertise lies in capital markets trading and high-yield, helped develop DLJ's CDO presence in 1998, according GCM. GCM is looking to add as many as nine more to its CDO team.

While GCM would not comment specifically on its CDO strategy going forward, Managing Director Greg Jacobs did talk up the bank's strengths in distribution, as well as its established international presence via parent Royal Bank of Scotland.
