Clayton Holdings LLC, Shelton, Conn., has hired Rick E. Smith as senior managing director in business development for its Quantum residential and commercial special servicing business, based in the company's Tampa office.
He will be responsible for managing client business development and strategy, specifically identifying the needs of existing and potential customers and marketing the appropriate services to meet those needs. He will report directly to Tom Donatacci, executive vice president of business development.
Most recently, Smith was president and chief executive at Marix Servicing, Phoenix, where he was responsible for business development and start up operations. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president of loan administration at Mortgage Lenders Network USA; director, consumer loan portfolio at Key Bank and vice president of loan administration for Chase Manhattan Mortgage. He also worked for Conti Mortgage, First Nationwide Mortgage and Citicorp Mortgage.
