Clarification

Moody's Investors Service is not courting Norman Last to become part of its private placement initiative. For last week's article, called "Thomson Sells BankWatch to Fitch," Moody's was not contacted for comment or verification regarding rumors that were circling the market.

According to Brian Clarkson, Group Managing Director and head of Asset Finance at Moody's, the rating agency believes their current staffing model positions the agency well in the private placement market.

"We added Chris Donnelly to specifically lead this effort along with Kieran McShane, and we are very pleased with the results," says Clarkson. "I am confident that our current team of analysts, led by Managing Directors Andy Silver, Ed Bankole, Pramila Gupta, Sam Pilcer and Linda Stesney, have the skills and experience to maintain and expand our position in all facets of the asset-backed and ABCP markets."
