Calyon taps Herzog for Loans, Weinstein to head capital markets

Calyon Americas, the corporate and investment banking arm of French bank Credit Agricole Group, announced the hire of Gary Herzog as head of its loan syndications group in the Americas. Herzog will report to Jerome Le Jamtel, managing director and head of the credit and debt markets division of Calyon Americas. He will also report to Carol Shymanski, managing director and global head of loan syndication.

Herzog is a 20-year capital markets veteran and was most recently managing director and co-head of syndicated finance and leveraged lending at Bank of New York. He has also worked at Bank of New York as head of New York investment banking, co-head of structured finance, global origination and distribution of syndicated loans and private placements, as well as origination of fixed income securities.

Reporting to Herzog will be Amy Trapp, managing director and head of loan syndication origination and structuring, and Laurent Deroy, managing director and head of loan syndication sales and trading.

Another Calyon hire last week was David Weinstein who was tapped as managing director and head of the bank's new high yield and leveraged capital markets group in the U.S. Weinstein will report to Ron Krolick, managing director and head of debt markets division of Calyon Americas, and to Tim Hall, managing director and global head of high yield. Previously Weinstein served as head of high yield capital markets at BNP Paribas, with similar positions at Chase Securities and BankBoston Securities.
