Cadwalader Announces Covered Bond Group

Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft announced the formation of a global Covered Bonds practice group.  The team of attorneys in the new group is comprised of partners from the firm’s New York and London offices with expertise in residential and commercial mortgage loan origination, securitization, tax, insolvency and financial services regulation.

Among these members are firm partner Jordan Schwartz, who serves on the American Securitization Forum’s covered bond task force and as an advisor to market participants regarding U.S. covered bond structures and regulation. London-based Capital Markets partner Conor Downey, who has advised on a number of covered bond transactions in Europe, also joins the group along with partners Michael Gambro, Anna Glick, Stuart Goldstein, Lisa Pauquette, Patrick Quinn, Charles Roberts, Jeffrey Rotblat, and Robert Ughetta. Tax partners Charles Adelman and Gray Silverstein are also assisting the group.

The firm will host a briefing for clients and friends on September 25, 2008 to discuss the development of the U.S. covered bond market.
