Nikolaos Athanasiou

Nikolaos Athanasiou provides the vision and strategic leadership necessary to ensure Guaranteed Rate’s national growth. Nik’s extensive experience, knowledge and bias to action have brought improved efficiencies and optimized performance to Guaranteed Rate’s national sales, operations and underwriting departments. The results he’s delivered are unmatched throughout the industry.Since joining Guaranteed Rate’s first New England branch office in 2009, Nik has served in several leadership roles as a key asset in the company’s continued success. In 2011, Nik transitioned to Chicago, where as Managing Director he led the growth of Direct Division to nearly $2 billion nationally in 2013.Nik assumed the role of EVP, Strategy & Integrated Operations in April 2014 and took over as Chief Operating Officer in December 2015.Nik holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and has been both a music educator and professional jazz guitarist. He enjoys listening to, composing and improvising jazz music. Nik resides in Chicago with his wife and two children.
