Nancy Northrup

VP, Data Governance Quality and Process

Nancy Northrup is the Vice President of Data Governance Quality and Process at Citigroup where there is a Chief Data Office (CDO) to oversee data governance and management. There will be more of these in the future. The CDO is not part of the business nor part of IT, but builds the bridges as a true data management organization. Leading the creation of policies and standards, the CDO provides the leadership required to create the data maturity model and the data roadmap for our 5 year plan to lead us to the highest data maturity level. The CDO also provides the leadership for the rollout of data quality projects and tracking to keep the company on target. The CDO is led by a Managing Director who reports indirectly to Don Callahan who in turn reports to Vikram Pandit, the CEO of all Citigroup. It is a high profile organization showing the commitment at Citi to data quality. Prior to joining Citi, Ms. Northrup was the Customer Master Data Governance Leader at Honeywell and consulted on data governance and quality management at various companies including Coca-Cola Enterprises and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. She began her career as a member of the IT organizations at AT&T and Lucent Technologies. Ms. Northrup holds a Master's Certification in Project Management, is a graduate of Southern Methodist University (BA in English Literature) and The Chubb Institute (Technical degree in applications development), and has taken Advanced Management Training at Tufts University.
