Maria Vello

President & CEO

Ms. Maria Vello, CISSP, is CEO and President of the NCFTA, a 501.c.3 non-profit which provides a neutral, collaborative venue where global partners from industry, law enforcement, government, and academia come together, leveraging cross-sector resources and threat intelligence to more effectively analyze, correlate, and associate critical real-time intelligence against emerging cyber threats.�Prior to being appointed as CEO and President, Maria served on the Board of Directors of the NCFTA from 2002 - 2012 and as the Board Secretary for four years.With more than 25 years of experience in the design, integration, and implementation of global corporate systems, security, and networks, Ms. Vello has been responsible for integrating security best practices and raising awareness levels at every level in every organization for which she has worked.�Maria received her B.A. from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and completed post-graduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.� She has also attended numerous executive leadership and management trainings, including Carnegie Mellon-Software Engineering Institute’s certification program in the delivery, facilitation, consulting, and training of the Institute’s OCTAVE methodology.� In addition to being a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Maria is also certified in the RAM-W physical security certification for the water industry, which is one of our nation’s critical infrastructures.Maria’s achievements have been recognized by the AT&T Leaders Council, and she was also named to the top ten women in Cloud in 2014.
