Laird Minor

Managing Director

Mr. Minor is Managing Director and co-founder of Nautilus Capital, LLC, a loan sale advisory firm which focuses on placing “distressed” residential and commercial mortgages. During its 10-year history Nautilus has marketed more than $14 billion of loans and has completed hundreds of separate transactions. Nautilus is also a Financial Advisor to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and has completed structured sales of over $1.3 billion of nonperforming construction loans from two failed financial institutions. Nautilus also provides valuation services for loan portfolios, individual loans and commercial properties.Before founding Nautilus Capital Mr. Minor served for over three years as Executive Vice President of a national subprime mortgage company, with responsibility for loan securitizations and sales, underwriting, credit policy and quality control. Prior to that he served in a similar capacity for a different national mortgage lender, where in 1991 he participated in one of the first public securitizations of nonprime mortgage loans. Earlier in his career Mr. Minor served in a variety of roles for a Pittsburgh-based bank holding company, including Director of Mergers and Acquisitions, Vice President of Corporate Finance, and Assistant General Counsel; and he was a partner in a law firm. Mr. Minor received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an M.B.A. from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The Boston Conservatory, where he majored in French Horn.
