Frederick J. Pomerantz, who co-chairs Goldberg Segalla LLP’s rapidly-growing insurance regulatory practice team, has more than 30 years of experience handling complex insurance transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and related state regulatory hearings coast-to-coast for foreign and domestic insurance companies. A New York licensed attorney, Fred’s practice addresses changes in global and U.S. reinsurance collateralization rules, corporate compliance, financial service integration issues, and proposed federal regulation of the insurance industry. Since joining Goldberg Segalla LLP, the firm has been retained by two large cross border law firms to assist in transactions involving clients in Japan, Germany and Canada.Mr. Pomerantz is a frequent author and lecturer. He recently co-authored a commentary titled “Auto Insurance Telematics: Data Privacy and Ownership” for Mealey’s Litigation Reports-Data Privacy and Mealey’s Litigation Reports-Emerging Insurance Disputes. His other articles have appeared in Best’s Review, Law 360, Insurance Day, ReActions, Mealey’s Data Privacy Law Report, AIRROC Matters and the FORC Journal.Mr. Pomerantz is also a frequent panelist at meetings of the Surplus Lines Law Group and the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals (AICP) and has spoken on the subjects of federal and state laws and/or proposed laws on privacy and data ownership and other regulatory issues arising from Usage Based Insurance and Vehicle Telematics� and on Price Optimization in Insurance Rate Setting, at programs sponsored by the Federation of Regulatory Counsel (FORC), the CPCU Society and the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Runoff Companies.
