Benjamin Gilman

Senior Vice President and Human Resources Executive

Ben Gilman is Senior Vice President and Human Resources Executive for Bank of America/Merrill Lynch US Wealth Management, managing over $1T in assets with 23,000 Associates, including 15k Financial Advisors across the U.S. His responsibilities include leading human resources strategy and execution, including hiring, retention, compensation and talent management. Previously, Gilman was the HR executive for the Merrill Lynch/Bank of America merger transition throughout 2008 and 2009, responsible for architecting large-scale expense reductions, associate retention strategies and processes to integrate culture, HR processes and leadership assessment and selection. Gilman has been with Bank of America for 9 years, during which he has served as the HR leader for several merger transitions including LaSalle Bank, MBNA, and National Processing Corporation (NPC), and as the HR executive for a division of Consumer Banking, supporting a retail banking division consisting of 1200 banking centers and 15,000 associates across the Southeast. Additionally, he has served as a Compensation Executive for technology and staff support functions and staffing manager for Card Services and Corporate Marketing and Communications. Prior to Bank of America, Gilman worked for two boutique consulting firms as an information technology recruiter. Gilman earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Iowa and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He has recently relocated to New York with his wife Wendy.
